Booking Terms and Conditions

On receipt of an enquiry for a particular date for an apartment, I will confirm both the availability of the apartment and the rental rate, including the security deposit. If you wish to proceed then I will send you a rental contract to sign based on the following terms and conditions.

In order to confirm a booking and mark it reserved on the availability calendar, we require receipt of the completed and signed rental contract which formally sets out these terms and conditions, together with the booking deposit of 25% of the total rental sum.

Rates are generally as indicated on the apartment pages of this site but may vary from time to time. The primary currency in which the rental is fixed is the Euro. If payment is to be made in Sterling the exchange rate to be used will be that shown on www.xe.com on the date of the quotation. The minimum stay is 3 nights, and the rental rates are inclusive of all taxes and expenses such as electricity, cable television and internet access. Telephone calls to European landlines, and North American and Canadian landlines and mobiles are included, but other telephone calls will be subject to an additional charge.

A surcharge of 50 Euro is payable when the occupancy in Apartment Lalande is 3-4 persons.

We reserve the right to ask for a security deposit of 250 Euros payable no later than 4 weeks in advance of arrival to cover accidental damage during the rental period. This is fully refundable provided there are no losses or damage incurred.

We also charge a single fee of 30 Euros for rentals of less than a week, to cover cleaning.

The balance of rental and security deposit is payable 4 weeks in advance of arrival.

We accept payment by cheque, bankers draft or bank transfer, either in Euros or the Sterling equivalent. We can also accept credit card payments through PayPal.

There is typically a delay of 3 days between the initiation of a bank transfer and it appearing in our account. During this time we will advise any enquirers of the status of the booking going ahead, but will not formally mark the rental as reserved until payment receipt is confirmed.

The property and contents at our properties are fully insured, however, this insurance covers only the owners property and Public Liability. Claims for personal injury, losses to property owned by guests, due to break-in, flooding etc, or loss of accommodation will not be accepted. Guests must take out their own travel insurance policy to cover all personal and third party risks.

Arrival time is between 16:00 and 20:00, and the arrangements for keys will be advised before arrival. Departure is at 11am at the latest to allow time for the apartment to be checked and cleaned for the next guest. However, we do try wherever possible to accommodate early arrivals for guests flying in long haul if the apartment is not occupied that morning.

Smoking and use of candles or any naked flames is strictly prohibited in the apartments. No pets or animals of any sort are to be taken into the apartments. Normally we do not accept children under 10 years of age because we cannot provide the security and safety measures that are appropriate.

Cancellations made more than 8 weeks in advance will be refunded in full. Cancellations made between 8 and 4 weeks in advance of arrival are subject to a 50% retention, and no refund can be made less than 4 weeks in advance of arrival.
